Braces are used to straighten crooked, crowded or protruding teeth, to close gaps between teeth and correct the way in which teeth come together, so the top and bottom teeth meet when you close your mouth. This will allow you to bite correctly, eat more comfortably and improve your smile.
Clear aligners are an alternative to traditional braces to help straighten teeth that are crowded or tilted forwards or backwards.
They are designed for minor teeth movement and consists of wearing clear, comfortable, virtually invisible and removable ‘aligners’ that look and fit almost like a retainer. The aligner is transparent, smooth and there is no need for wires or brackets.
The treatment is started with a consultation to determine your suitability which includes taking radiographs (X-rays), Photos and a set of impressions. This information is sent to a dedicated team of Smile Tru technicians who will use your impression and images to create a digital model of your teeth which can be used to see how your teeth will move gradually over the course of treatment. It is even possible to see the end results before you start treatment. Smile Tue is a cheaper alternative to Invisalign braces.
Having taken the impressions and your consent to commence treatment following a final consultation, a series of aligners are made to facilitate tooth movement in stages to a predetermined position. In this way there is gradual correction of your teeth without compromising your smile and other people will hardly notice the aligner. Aligners are changed at 2 week intervals until the desired movement has been achieved.
At Dentality our dentists will discuss your needs and concerns with you and can advise you on whether clear aligners would be an appropriate treatment for you. Callus now and book a consultation.
