Dentality @ Hoddesdon - Dermal Fillers
As we age our skin loses volume and starts to sag due to the declining amount of hyaluronic acid in the skin. Dermal fillers are a safe and effective way to help to restore your skins volume by replacing the hyaluronic acid. Dermal fillers are a gel like substance that is injected into the dermal layers of the skin to help smooth out deeper wrinkles and to add volume to the skin. Common treatments include smoothing out deep wrinkles and lip enhancement.
Prior to administering the dermal filler we will apply a local anaesthetic cream to the area to help numb the area and reduce any discomfort during the procedure. At Dentality we use Juvederm which also contains a local anaesthetic, this will help further reduce any potential discomfort. The procedure involves injecting the filler substance into the relevant areas using a fine needle. The results are instant and will last between 9-12months.
The most common side effects include redness, pain, swelling, itching, bruising and discolouration at the injection site. Most of these side effects resolve within 7 days. There is also the less common risk of infection.
At Dentality prior to having any injectable dermal filler, you will be assessed by a qualified doctor who will review your medical history, take pre and post treatment photos and will discuss any questions or concerns you may have about the procedure.
